Jörg Wunderlich has build his fine reputation through his meticulous imitations of old Italian master violins. He mainly uses Stradivari or Guarneri models or baroque violins modelled on Amati.

His excellent violins have been awarded several prizes. Most recently he has won a special award for the closest Guarneri copy at the Jacobus Stainer Championship 2001.
